hilltop "monte” house contiguous to others "montes”, a project based on
the concept of simplicity, clarity, comfort and evolution. Houses of
various types and geometries strictly interspersed with "fresh”
courtyards adding depth and light filtered through the edifice set.
Smooth and natural forms, an apparent repeated austerity evokes the
subtle differences in the Alentejo without losing sight of the
constructive and constant visual presence of Montemor.

José Paulo dos Santos is known for working with rhythm, proportion,
framing light and carefully considering the meaning of each material in
the characterization of spaces and volumes, closely related to the
context. Without fanfare, but with great accuracy, he can articulate the
ordinary with the sublime. Material assets and time are the main
starting point of his work which, on a balance of continuity over time,
appear as if the edifice set has always made perfect architectonic
sense.
